Results are emailed to you about approximatively one month and half after sitting the test. After this, you will then receive emails advising you when your certificate and diploma have arrived - certificates require a few weeks after test results and diplomas require a few months - so that you can come and pick them up in office. If you cannot come and pick them up, we can arrange to have them mailed to you: you will need to provide us with an A4 Registered Post envelope with your name and address on it.

The publication of DELF-DALF diplomas is the responsibility of the FEI, which is located in Paris. Certificates are issued in Canberra. This certificate should allow you to undertake the necessary administrative procedures while waiting for the official diploma. Official diplomas can take several months to arrive at our office because they are published in France and are, then, sent by post.

Results assigned by national juries are final. If you failed the exam, you may apply to have a look at your exam paper within two weeks of your results being emailed to you. It can only be organised by appointment at our premises. To apply, please email exams@afmelbourne.com.au

Note that DELF/DALF examiners and markers are all trained and authorized by France Education International. They follow strict assessment guidelines and are regularly monitored.

Has my registration gone through?

You will receive confirmation of your purchase when it is processed, as shown in the image below. In addition, you will receive a confirmation email (which may end up in your spam or junk folder). Please note that the event date shown here is for the written exam only - the date and time of your oral exam will be sent to you at a later date as part of your exam notification (“convocation”).

Can I pay later?

Upfront payment is required in order to make a registration. However, if you are completing your purchase online, you can choose to pay in instalments via PayPal or Afterpay.

Can I pay by invoice?

Payment by invoice is only available for schools or for those whose employer is paying for their exam. To pay by invoice, please contact our Customer Service Team.

Can I choose my oral exam time?

Unfortunately, you cannot choose your oral exam date or time. The oral exam schedule depends on many factors such as facility availability, examiner availability, and so on.

Can I change my exam level?

If you made an error when selecting your exam level, please inform us as soon as possible at exams@afmelbourne.com.au.

Do you have preparation classes? 

Preparation classes can be organised but only if we have enough participants to open a class. If you are interested in joining a preparation class, please leave an interest request to our Customer Service Team at (03) 9525 3463.

Do you sell DELF preparation books?

You can find DELF preparation books through Language International Bookshop (13-15 Station St, Kew East, VIC 3102).

Can my written exam be rescheduled?

No, the date of the written exam cannot be rescheduled, as the dates are fixed by France Education International a year in advance. If you are unable to attend, you will have to wait until the next session to sit the exam. The cost of the exam can be refunded up to seven business days before the start of the exam session (note that a $50.00 administrative fee may be applied).

Can I take the written and oral exams at different Alliance Française? 

No. The written and oral exams must be taken at the same exam centre.  

Can someone else collect my certificate on my behalf?

If you would like someone else to collect your certificate on your behalf, you must give this person a written and signed letter of authorisation, as well as a copy of your ID (currently valid).

How do I apply for special examination arrangements?

Special examination arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis. If you have any requirements, please inform the Customer Service Team by email (customerservice@afmelbourne.com.au) at least fifteen business days before the start of the exam session.
